Voting for the Graaff-Reinet Community Improvement District is open from 15 January 2026. Submit your vote to help shape the future of our town.

In order to get established, we need 60% plus 1 of the additional rate payers in the CID boundary, that’s 830 votes in total.

Becoming a member of the Graaff-Reinet City Improvement District (CID) means playing an active role in shaping a safer, cleaner, and more prosperous community. Through collective effort, we can create a well-managed, sustainable environment that fosters economic growth, reduces unemployment, and enhances the overall quality of life in Graaff-Reinet.

As a CID member, you’ll have a voice in decision-making, ensuring that initiatives align with the needs of residents, businesses, and civic organisations.

Please note that ONLY property owners can become members of the Graaff-Reinet Community Improvement District NPC and have the right to vote however that doesn’t mean non property owners cant get involved in other ways.

Whether you’re a property owner, a local organisation, or a community volunteer, your participation contributes to a stronger, more connected town – one where safety, pride, and social responsibility are shared values.

Prerequisites or membership criteria

CID Membership: Property owner in Graaff-Reinet.
Volunteers: 18 years and older, living in Graaff-Reinet. If younger than 18, Parent/Guardian consent is needed.
Civics: Registered NPO, Foundations, NPC, PBO based in Graaff-Reinet.

Membership

All property owners can get involved in the CID’s activities. However, only members are eligible to vote at Annual Members’ meetings. Any property owner within the CID boundary may submit a written application to the CID steering committee to become a member of the GRT Community Improvement District NPC.
